Jess Gordon is out for revenge. Last year the jocks from Knights College tried to shame her best friend. This year she and a hand-picked college girl gang are going to get even.
The lesson: don't mess with Unity girls.
The target: Blondie, a typical Knights stud, arrogant, cold . . . and smart enough to keep up with Jess.
A neo-riot grrl with a penchant for fanning the flames meets a rugby-playing sexist pig - sworn enemies or two people who happen to find each other when they're at their most vulnerable?
It's all Girl meets Boy, Girl steals from Boy, seduces Boy, ties Boy to a chair and burns Boy's stuff. Just your typical love story.
This isn't your typical love story where the love story is super predictable and you find yourself grabbing at straws to continue reading. Summer Skin is the story of the not-so dumb blonde that is out for revenge and isn’t afraid to break some hearts in the process. Nonetheless, her victims aren’t exactly what she expected.
Summer Skin was a raw and realistic story that gave my heart the awakening it needed for Young Adult Fiction as Eager hit it out of the park with this witty story. I found myself laughing, smirking and finding more of myself within the characters as both the story and characters were relatable and riveting. This YA novel gives romance readers hope as this take was simply heartwarming and just felt right. With a mixture of humour, romance, learning curves and a well-rounded plotline, Eager really made my skin crawl in anticipation for her next book!
I would recommend Summer Skin to those who love a humorous YA novel with a taste of quirky characters that will leave you wanting to befriend all your fictitious friends.
